MG Astor
The MG Astor is one of the most tech-oriented SUVs from the automaker. Prices of the compact SUV will be announced in a few weeks. It will be the brand's first model to feature Level 2 autonomous technology along with a bunch of functions under the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The front fascia of the Astor SUV is highlighted by a bold Celestial grille featuring full LED Hawkeye headlamps and LED daytime running lights DRLs, which get nine crystal illuminating elements. The SUV also comes with a new bumper, fog lamps with black elements, and a skid plate.

In profile, the MG Astor gets 17-inch turbine-inspired dual-tone machined alloy wheels, plastic cladding around the wheels, body-coloured door handles, roof rails, AI inside badging on the right side, blacked heated ORVMs.

At the rear, the SUV gets new LED taillamps, a new rear bumper with chrome accentuated dual exhaust design. The company logo sits in the center of the boot lid with ?Astor' lettering just below along with ZS and ADAS badges.

In terms of proportions, the MG Astor measures 4323 mm in length, 1809 mm in width, and 1650 mm in height. The wheelbase of the compact SUV stands at 2585 mm. The SUV is longer and taller than the ZS EV. It will be available in five colours - Spiced Orange, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White and Starry Black.

The new Astor will be a petrol-only SUV. It will have two petrol engines on offer - 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and 1.3-litre turbocharged. While the former is tuned to churn out 108 bhp and 144 Nm of peak torque, the latter generates 138 bhp and a meaty 220 Nm of peak torque.

The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor will come paired to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an eight-step CVT gearbox. The 1.3-litre turbocharged unit will get a 6-speed automatic torque converter unit as standard.

The cabin is very much identical to what we have seen on the MG ZS EV. It gets dual-tone Sangria Red interior theme, premium leather upholstery, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch instrument cluster, customised AI assistant, panoramic sunroof, PM 2.5 filter, electronic power steering and more.

The new MG Astor will be the first SUV in this segment to get an artificial intelligence or AI-powered personal assistant. The system responds to the wake-up command 'Hello Astor'. It offers more than 80 internet features including Wikipedia, jokes, news, festival GIFS, navigation, online music streaming, in-car control and critical in-car warning among others.

The new MG Astor will also come with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is the first car from the company to employ the 'Car-as-a-Platform' (CAAP) concept. With this MG aims to offer a range of technology-driven services to its customer using the SUV itself as a platform.
