TVS Motor Company has introduced its latest125 cc offering with the launch of the all-new TVS Jupiter 125 scooter. This is the second 125 cc scooter from the company after the NTorq 125, and an extension of the Jupiter family, which so far was only offered as a 110 cc offering. The Jupiter 125 is all-new, built from the ground up, featuring a new engine, new chassis and a lot of new innovations.

The new Jupiter 125 retains the basic silhouette of the Jupiter brand, but with a extra touch of premiumness. The scooter comes with nice fit and finish while the chrome inserts give it an upmarket feel.

The scooter comes with LED guide lights which offer a sharp look while the LED headlamp is a nice touch. The head unit also comes with a black visor flanked by chrome inserts on either side.

The top variant we have today gets the chrome inserts on the front apron, side panels and the exhaust muffler, along with the diamond-cut alloy wheels that add to the looks.

The Jupiter 125 also brings several innovations, which includes the repositioning of the 5 litre fuel tank to below the floorboard, while the fuel filler lid has been moved up front. This has also allowed TVS to offer an increased 32 litres under-seat storage space. You also get the all-in-one ignition and a USB charging slot with an open glovebox.

The Jupiter 125 gets a conventional instrument console which is easy to read with the small digital readout packing a long list of useful features. That being said, a SmartXonnect version with Bluetooth connectivity is also in the works, to be introduced later.

The new TVS Jupiter 125 is powered by fuel-injected, 2-valve, 125 cc motor that produces 8.18 bhp at 6000 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 4500 rpm, while paired with a CVT automatic.

Now, the Jupiter 125 makes about 1 bhp less than the NTorq but it's also a good 9 kg lighter in comparison. The engine is also tuned for more low and mid-range power. Speeds build quickly from 0 to 60 kmph, while it takes some effort to get up to 80 kmph.

The refinement levels of the new Jupiter 125 were right up there with the very best, something we've come to expect from TVS' latest offerings. In-gear acceleration is great between 20 and 60 kmph, but the sweet spot rests at 70 kmph and the scooter can effortlessly cruise with a little burst left for overtakes.
