Two-Wheeler Sales May 2022: Ather Energy Reports Best-Ever Monthly Sales With 3,787 Units

Ather Energy managed to eclipse its sales from April 2022 with 3,787 units sold in May 2022, registering the company's best-ever monthly sales so far.

Ather Energy recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in May 2022

Ather Energy reported its sales for May 2022 and the company registered its best-ever monthly with 3,787 units. The Bengaluru-based two-wheeler maker did not share the year-on-year difference but managed to outsell when compared to 3,779 units sold in April 2022, which was the company's previous best-ever monthly sales figure. However, the company did not share the year-on-year growth figures. Do note that the month of May last year saw the country marred by multiple lockdowns pan India owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the strong sales momentum, Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, "Ather delivered 3,787 scooters to customers in the month of May 2022. We achieved the highest ever monthly sales in May, which reiterates the strong faith that consumers have in our well-engineered, reliable and safe 450X and 450 Plus scooters. With the new round of funding, we are excited to have NIIF (National Investment and Infrastructure Fund) onboard along with Hero MotoCorp, who continue to make fresh investments in our business. The fresh round of funding will focus largely on expanding manufacturing facilities, investing in R&D, charging infrastructure, strengthening the supply chain, and growing the retail network. The charging infrastructure category is fast evolving, and we continue to partner with charge point operators like Magenta Power to make Ather Grid points more accessible to EV owners."

The previous month saw Ather announce its Series E round of funding with NIIF and Hero investing $128 million (about ₹ 992 crores) in the manufacturer. The company also tied up with Magenta ChargeGrid to aggressive expand the public charging network for EVs. Furthermore, Ather announced at least eight new showrooms in Kerala, and inaugurated four new experience centres in Kolhapur in Maharashtra, along with Thrissur, Kannur and Palakkad in Kerala. The company though end the month with a fire incident of its own at the Chennai showroom.
