British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has revealed launch details about its upcoming affordable motorcycle developed with Bajaj.

The British bikemaker's teased a silhouette of the bike set to launch on the 5th of July in India. The silhouette of the bike shows what appears to be a roadster.

This suggests that this could be Triumph's rumoured Street 400. Whether or not this name is what Triumph sticks with is still unknown, though the odds do seem to be in its favour.

The roadster is one of two motorcycles that the British marque has been developing with Bajaj. The second motorcycle, a scrambler has been spotted quite a few times and there is a chance that it make its debut alongside its roadster twin.

The roadster debuting on the 5th of July will be the more street-focused of the two bikes from the Triumph-Bajaj partnership. The bike will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with roadgoing tyres.

The scrambler, as seen in multiple spy shots, will have some off-roading capabilities and rides on a staggered setup with 19/17-inch wheels that come draped in dual-purpose rubber.

However, both bikes will feature a USD fork at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are expected to be carried out by discs on both ends that will be aided by dual-channel ABS.

Also shared by both the new bikes will be the powerplant. The new bikes will be powered by a brand new liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is expected to displace close to 400cc.

Power and torque figures are not known right now and will be disclosed by the time the bike launches in India. The engine is expected to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox that is expected to include a slipper clutch setup.

Thoughts About The Triumph-Bajaj Partnership For India

The partnership between Triumph and Bajaj to make what will be the most affordable motorcycles from the British firm in India. The first fruit of this partnership looks set to be a neo-retro roadster that will launch on the 5th of July as Triumph and Bajaj look to make inroads into a market dominated by Royal Enfield.
