Toyota Kirloskar Motor has once again achieved an impressive milestone in the Indian automotive market. The company reported sales of 20,410 units in May 2023, marking a remarkable growth rate of 110 per cent compared to last year when the company sold 10,216 units.

Toyota has been playing its cards between the larger segment cars and hybrid cars before the complete takeover of EVs. Toyota recently introduced the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Innova Hycross, catering to the hybrid car category.

This is the highest monthly cumulative sales TKM ever recorded. A total of 19,379 units were sold in the domestic market, and around 1,031 units of the Urban-Cruiser Hyryder were exported. Toyota also had a substantial growth of 32 per cent compared to its sales in April 2023.

TKM continued the positive performance run, achieving a 42 per cent growth in the first five months of 2023. During this period, Toyota sold 82,763 units, surpassing the sales figure of 58,505 units recorded in the same period last year.

According to Atul Sood, Vice President of Sales and Strategic Marketing Toyota Kirloskar Motor, "Toyota Kirloskar Motor has scaled a new high by reporting the highest monthly sales performance of 20,410 units, and they look forward to prioritizing the customers' needs, given the sustained momentum".

He also added that the latest launches, like Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross, and the Hilux, have helped sustain the strong sales momentum in their segments. Sood also stressed the increasing popularity of the Hilux, the flagship off-road truck of Toyota.

Toyota has a diverse line-up of cars in its fleet that would meet the demands of typical Indian buyers. With the likes of cars such as the Fortuner, Innova, Urban Cruiser, Glanza, Hilux, Legender, Camry, and Vellfire, Toyota has a car on its sleeve for everyone.

With this demand scale, they have implemented a third shift of operations in their Bidadi production plant. This initiative aims to address and enhance customer needs by optimising a new car's waiting period or spare parts' availability.

Thoughts About Toyota's Impressive Sales Record

The rise in sales reflects the reliability of Toyota vehicles and the trust placed in the brand by Indian consumers. This achievement further solidifies Toyota's position as a leading player in the Indian automobile industry and highlights the brand's commitment to its customers.
