In the Basic variant of the Toyota Innova Crysta Ambulance, the model will come equipped with a cabinet for medicine storage, an emergency kit, a fire extinguisher, auto loading stretcher, a forward-facing paramedic seat, folding ramp, a portable oxygen cylinder and a few bins.

In comparison, the Advanced variant features everything in the Basic variant and adds features such as an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Kendrick Extraction Device, multiparameter monitor, Oxygen Delivery System, additional sockets, portable suction aspirator, spine board, stationary oxygen cylinders, and a few additional power sockets.

This means the higher-spec Advanced variant of the Toyota Innova Crysta Ambulance will be very ideal for duties in rural and hill stations in India. Also, the implementation of such advanced ambulances will save plenty of lives in remote areas of the country.

In terms of powertrain, the Toyota Innova Crysta Ambulance will be powered by the same 2.4-litre, turbocharged diesel engine as the standard model. This engine in the standard Innova Crysta produces 148bhp and 343Nm of torque.

It is also worth mentioning that the Innova Crysta uses a ladder-frame chassis and the power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. We also expect the Toyota Innova Crysta Ambulance to command a premium of up to Rs 3 lakh more than the standard model.
