Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the new Honda Shine 100 motorcycle in a bid to directly compete against the Hero Splendor motorcycle in the country. As such, here are the top 5 things about the new Honda Shine 100 motorcycle.

Price: HMSI has aggressively priced the new Honda Shine 100 motorcycle in India with a price tag of Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), which is around Rs 7,500 cheaper than the cheapest variant of Hero Splendor+ motorcycle.

That being said, HMSI stated that the current price for the Honda Shine 100 motorcycle is part of the introductory offer. As such, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer could hike the price on the new motorcycle in the coming months.

Engine: Powering the newly launched Honda Shine 100 motorcycle is an all-new 99.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine puts out a respectable 7.5bhp of peak power and 8.05Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, this engine comes with a city-friendly 4-speed gearbox.

It is also worth mentioning that the powertrain in the new Honda Shine 100 motorcycle complies with the upcoming BS6 Phase 2 and RDE emission norms. In addition to that, this powertrain is also compatible with the E20 fuel.

Design & Colours: In terms of design, the newly launched Honda Shine 100 looks like a more compact version of the Honda Shine 125. In addition to that, the new motorcycle is offered in 5 colour options consisting of Black base shade and Red, Blue, Green, Gold and Grey Stripes.

Features: In terms of features, the newly launched Honda Shine 100 is a pretty basic motorcycle with nothing but essential features such as a halogen headlight, side-stand alert, and combined braking system (CBS).

Others: Honda boasts that the new Shine 100 motorcycle features a uniquely designed tank and a narrow leg opening for excellent knee grip. Furthermore, the company also states that the Shine 100 provides 'Unmatched comfort' with its 677mm long seat that is positioned at a height of 786mm.
