2 years ago 68

Tata motors has added a new XM variant to the Tigor iCNG line-up priced at Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Tigor XM iCNG is now the most affordable CNG variant of the Tigor line-up which was previously only available in the second from top XZ and fully-loaded XZ+ variants. Compared to the XZ, the XM CNG is about Rs 50,000 more affordable though it misses out on some of the kit as well.

Commenting on the launch, Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. said, “The Tigor has been an extremely special product for us and the addition of the iCNG variant has propelled our momentum further in the segment. Currently, more than 75% of the customer bookings of the Tigor are coming from the iCNG variant which is a testament to the robust demand of this technology in the Tigor portfolio. With the growing popularity of the Tigor iCNG and in line with our New Forever brand philosophy, the new Tigor XM iCNG will help us cater to new set of customers who have been wanting to experience our iCNG technology with an entry-level trim.”

Tigor CNG now available in four variants - XM, XZ, XZ+ and XZ+ Dual Tone

The XM CNG misses out on fog lamps, tweeters, steering-mounted audio controls, electric adjust wing mirrors, key-less go, cooled glovebox and a rear centre armrest. The car also gets less chrome trimming as compared to the higher-spec XZ variant and rear seat occupants also miss out on a power outlet.

Equipment on offer meanwhile includes front and rear power windows, manual AC, an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, four speakers, a digital instrument cluster, central locking, and a manual day-night inside rear view mirror.

The XM iCNG will be available in a choice of four exterior colours- Opal White, Daytona Grey, Arizona Blue, and Deep Red.

Coming to the engine, you get the familiar 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit as the rest of the Tigor CNG line-up. The unit develops 72.4 bhp and 95 Nm when running on CNG. A 5-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard.
