Tata Tiago EV Empowers Women And Thrives In Smaller Towns - Breaking Barriers

Since introducing Tata's entry-level EV hatchback, Tiago EV has been breaking all the records. The electric hatchback was the Fastest Booked EV in India, and Tata was recently applauded for completing 10,000 deliveries.

As reported by ET Auto, Tata Tiago EV has become increasingly popular in smaller towns, accounting for 49 per cent of its overall sales within one year of its launch.

Tiago EV has achieved 35 per cent of its sales from the top 10 cities, 16 per cent from the following 10 cities, and the remaining 49 per cent from the rest of the country.

The Tata Tiago EV has performed exceptionally well in smaller cities like Satara, Bilaspur, Shimoga, and small towns of Kerala, surpassing the popularity once held by the elder sibling Nexon EV.

Compared to its SUV counterpart, the Tiago EV has made a stronger impact, with approximately 50 per cent of the bookings for this electric vehicle coming from locations outside the top 20 cities in India.

The hatchback has also maintained its popularity among first-time car buyers, capturing their attention and interest. A notable 24 per cent of Tiago EV buyers have purchased directly without owning a car. About 56 per cent of Tiago EV buyers were below 40.

Among the Tiago EV admirers, almost one-fourth of them are women. According to the report, an impressive 24 per cent of Tiago EV buyers are women, double the industry average for female buyers. This record highlights the car's suitability for a diverse range of customers.

Priced between a range of Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 12.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Tiago EV is India's most-affordable four-door electric hatchback, and Tata has already sold over 15,000 units by now.

The Tiago EV has four variants and comes with two battery packs - a 19.2kWh battery paired to a 61bhp electric motor that claims a range of 257km; and a 24kWh battery paired to a 75bhp electric motor that offers a range of 315km.

Inside, the car has a host of features like a 7-inch touchscreen head-unit with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and a digital instrument cluster, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, cruise control, auto headlamps, auto wipers, automatic climate control, and an 8-speaker sound system.
