Suzuki Motorcycle India has achieved a significant production milestone as the company rolled out the 5 millionth unit of Suzuki Access 125 scooter. This production milestone was achieved at the company's Kherki Dhaula manufacturing plant in Gurugram, Haryana.

Commenting on the occasion, Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India said, "This is a major milestone for all of us at Suzuki Motorcycle India. It reflects our commitment and customers' confidence in our Access 125 in the domestic as well as overseas markets."

Speaking about the Suzuki Access 125, the model was introduced back in 2007. Since its launch, the Suzuki Access 125 managed to be a consistent seller for Suzuki Motorcycle India.

Despite its mundane looks, the Suzuki Access 125 was quite popular among the younger demographic, thanks to its punchy 125cc powertrain. On top of that, the model also came with decent hardware and features.

Recently, Suzuki also updated the powertrain of the Access 125 scooter to meet the stringent emission requirements under the updated BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. This also includes modifications to comply with the newer E20 fuel.

Thanks to this update, the 124cc, single-cylinder, 2-valve, SOHC engine now produces 8.58bhp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. These specifications make the Suzuki Access 125 a decent performer in the 125cc scooter segment.

It is also worth mentioning that the Suzuki Access 125 is offered in three versions - Standard, Special Edition, and Ride Connect Edition. Out of these, the Access 125 Ride Connect Edition features a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster.

This digital instrument cluster in the Suzuki Access 125 Ride Connect Edition comes with features such as turn-by-turn navigation, caller id, SMS alert, WhatsApp alert, and much more. This is the most expensive version of the scooter and it is priced between Rs 85,500 and Rs 89,500, ex-showroom.

On the other hand, prices for the Standard variant of the Suzuki Access 125 scooter start at Rs 79,400 (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 83,100 (ex-showroom). In comparison, the Special Edition variant is priced at Rs 84,800 (ex-showroom).

Thoughts About Suzuki Access Achieving 5 Million Production Milestone

The Suzuki Access 125 scooter has been a consistent seller for Suzuki Motorcycle India. In fact, the Suzuki Access 125 is the major contributor to Suzuki Motorcycle India's overall sales figures.

That being said, this is a very important milestone for Suzuki Motorcycles in India and we expect more such milestones from the Japanese automaker in the future. However, it is time for Suzuki to roll out more products to benefit from the ever-growing Indian two-wheeler industry.
