Simple One Electric Scooter Deliveries Commence – Company Claims 1 Lakh+ Bookings

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler company, Simple Energy commenced the deliveries of the Simple One electric scooter. However, the EV maker plans to facilitate deliveries in a phased manner starting from Bengaluru.

Speaking about the Simple One, the electric scooter made its official debut on May 23 and carried a price tag of Rs 1,45,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Additionally, the company claims that it has bagged more than 1 lakh bookings for the Simple One electric scooter.

Speaking on the occasion, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy, said, "We are all proud of the hard work and dedication of our team in creating a holistic product that is both sustainable and an efficient transportation option for our customers."

Unlike most electric scooters, the Simple One electric scooter comes equipped with two battery packs - One fixed and one removable battery pack. According to Simple Energy, the total battery capacity of the Simple One electric scooter is rated at 5kWh.

Thanks to this enormous battery capacity, the Simple One electric scooter comes with an impressive range of 212 kilometres with 6 per cent SOC left. Additionally, the Simple One can charge at a rate of 1.5km per minute up to 80 per cent battery capacity using a DC fast charger.

However, using a standard AC charger, the same feat takes 5 hours and 54 minutes. Out of this, the fixed battery pack takes 3 hours and 47 minutes, whereas the portable battery pack takes 2 hours and 7 minutes to charge up to 80 per cent capacity.

Coming to the electric motor, the Simple One electric scooter is equipped with an 11.39bhp electric motor with 72Nm of peak torque. However, the continuous output of this electric motor is rated as 6.03bhp.

Thanks to this powertrain setup, Simple Energy claims that the Simple One electric scooter can accelerate to 40km/h in just 2.77 seconds. Moreover, the top speed of the Simple One electric scooter stands at 105km/h.

It is also worth mentioning that the Simple One electric scooter weighs 134 kilogrammes and the boot space of the model measures 30 litres. Furthermore, the model comes equipped with a 200mm disc brake at the front and a 190mm disc brake at the rear.
