Ola S1 Air Scooter Secures 3,000 Sales In Record Time - Electric Dominance Continues

Ever since Ola Electric's launch, it has been getting a lot of attention in the market. Their e-scooters are becoming popular among city commuters because they are both convenient and good for the environment.

India's top electric two-wheeler maker has now started selling its third electric scooter, the S1 Air. Ola opened the purchase window on 27 July, a day earlier than the initially planned date of July 28th.

According to Ola, the initial response to the launch of the Ola S1 Air has exceeded their expectations. They have clocked more than 3,000 sales within the first few hours.

For customers who had already made a booking, the price of the Ola S1 Air is Rs 1.09 lakh (excluding showroom charges). For others who haven't booked it yet, the electric scooter will cost an additional Rs 10,000.

Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO at Ola Electric, announced on social media that the first 1,000 units of the S1 Air electric scooter were sold within an hour after the purchase window opened. Within three hours, the company achieved a milestone of 3,000 sales.

The Ola S1 Air shares the same platform as the S1 Pro. However, to make it more affordable, Ola has incorporated cost-cutting measures, which include a smaller 3kWh battery pack. Despite the smaller battery, the scooter still offers a decent range of 125km on a single charge.

The all-new Ola S1 Air electric scooter will be powered by a 4.5kW hub motor. Ola Electric claims that the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in only 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 90km/h.

Ola S1 Air will compete against the likes of Ather 450S and TVS iQube among other electric scooters. The e-scooter comes with a telescopic front fork with twin shock absorbers at the rear with drum brakes. The new S1 Air will also get a new neon green paint scheme and a utilitarian grab rail.
