Ola Electric quietly rolled out a two-week guaranteed delivery plan for select potential customers

Ola Electric has quietly rolled out a two-week guaranteed delivery plan for a handful of potential customers in few cities across the country. Ola says that it is a segmented, targeted communication for potential customers who have showed keen interest in the Ola S1 electric scooter. Ola Electric has been in touch with customers who have been associated with the company over the last 10 months since bookings for the S1 and S1 Pro began. The company sent this communication to potential customers via email. Of course, it is a temporary plan that aims to add more customers within the Ola Electric fold.

Interested customers can book the Ola S1 and S1 Pro by paying ₹ 499 online. Once the order is confirmed, the customer will be required to pay a further ₹ 20,000 during the purchase window and the remaining amount as and when the delivery date arrives. But the process of what happens if the delivery doesn't happen in 14 days, that is unclear. The customer will also have to pay the FAME-II.

Even with the negative sentiment around Ola Electric, the company currently occupies the top spot as the highest-selling electric two-wheeler manufacturer, with over 12,683 units sold in April 2022, dethroning Hero Electric, as it slipped to the third position, with the semi-conductor shortage playing a big part.

Ola Electric recently opened its latest purchase window for the S1 Pro electric scooter and also increased the prices of the Ola S1 Pro. The company has increased the price of the electric scooter by ₹ 10,000, which effectively takes the price of the Ola S1 Pro to over ₹ 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The revised price is inclusive of subsidy offered by the centre government under the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and EV) scheme.
