It is widely known that Ola has been working on developing an electric car, which was teased to the public last year. Recently, some leaked patent images have surfaced, showcasing the design for the Ola electric car.

It's important to note that these images depict a prototype or a pre-production model, so the final version for mass production may vary. One look at the patent image will remind you of the Tesla Model S and the Model 3. Up front, the grille is completely closed albeit with a small opening just above the front lip.

Below the sleek-looking headlamps are two ducts to channel air around the car for aerodynamic efficiency. Headlamps on either side are connected by a LED DRL to give the car a neat look.

From the side, the Ola electric car's sloping roof line and smoothly contoured body panels can be observed. The electric car could feature a drag coefficient of 0.21Cd for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The wheels on the upcoming electric car seem to feature an aero design too.

Some other notable design observations include a camera-based system for ORVMs and could feature a fixed panoramic glass roof as well. With a coupe-like design, the Ola electric car could have a notchback boot lid for maximum storage at the back.

Ola Electric is yet to reveal the details of the electric powertrain, design, and features of the upcoming electric car. However, it is expected to use a born-electric skateboard platform, which will make it roomier inside and support its compact form factor.

The born-electric skateboard platform will not have an electric motor placed in the middle along with a battery pack mounted low-down. Instead, it will be independently driven by all four wheels, which makes for a roomier cabin.

Roomy interiors are expected to seat 5 people in comfort and could have the latest toys. This could include large displays for the infotainment and the driver console. Connectivity options could include NFC, Android Auto, Apple Car Play and GPS-based navigation too. The rear passenger could get some screens at the back for entertainment.

However, all these features and a whole lot more will be part of a minimalistic-looking interior design reminding you of the Tesla cars again. The glass roof could make the cabin airy and fresh giving an all-new experience.

Ola is yet to reveal details of the electric powertrain as well. The Ola electric car is expected to feature a battery pack of around 80kWh. This will enable a driving range of over 500km on a single charge. The performance of the Ola electric car is also under wraps, but it is expected to have a 0 to 100kmph acceleration time of less than 4 seconds and a top speed of around 150kmph.

OLA's Bhavish Aggarwal teased the brand's upcoming electric car, which is anticipated to be launched in 2024. Aggarwal expressed confidence that the Ola electric car will play a pioneering role in transforming the electric four-wheeler market, similar to how Ola's scooters revolutionized the two-wheeler electric segment.

Thoughts About Ola Electric Car's Design

The design language of the Ola electric car seems to follow that of a high-performance machine. A slippery body and flush door handles will account for both form and the factor. Will Ola's electric car lead the four-wheeler revolution in India remains to be seen.
