As for pedestrian safety, the new Hyundai Tucson also scored a decent 36.1 points out of 54 points in the pedestrian protection safety test at the Euro-NCAP.

The variant tested by Euro-NCAP during the crash test was the GLS trim equipped with a 1.6-litre GDI turbocharged petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. Apart from this, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson is also available as a plug-in hybrid with a similar 1.6-litre engine.

However, the new Hyundai Tucson is more likely to come with 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel powertrain in India. The petrol engine is likely to produce 154bhp of peak power and 192Nm of peak torque.

The diesel unit on the other hand is likely to produce 184bhp of peak power and 417Nm of peak torque. Apart from that, both engine options are likely to come with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
