Maruti Suzuki has opened bookings for the upcoming Invicto premium MPV which is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. The Maruti Suzuki Invicto can be booked for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

The Invicto is Maruti Suzuki's version of Toyota's popular Innova MPV which was revealed in its Hycross guise late last year. The Invicto is expected to sport the Toyota Innova Hycross' strong hybrid setup when it is launched on the 5th of July.

Deliveries of the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, which was earlier expected to carry the Engage name, are expected to begin soon after the MPV's launch in India.

The strong hybrid powertrain of the Invicto is expected to remain unchanged when compared to the Innova Hycross. This means that the new Invicto from Maruti Suzuki will sport a petrol-electric hybrid that is paired with an e-CVT gearbox that sends power to the front wheels.

The Toyota MPV uses a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine that produces 172bhp and 188Nm of peak torque. The engine is aided by an electric motor producing 111bhp and 206Nm of peak torque. However, Toyota limits the maximum power to 186bhp.

Underneath the revised sheet metal from Maruti Suzuki, the new Invicto will retain Innova's monocoque chassis and the suspension setup and the 17-inch alloy wheels.

Where the changes are expected to happen will be on the surface of the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. The all-new Invicto will feature a design similar to that of the firm's other Nexa SUVs like the Grand Vitara and the recently launch Fronx.

The alloy wheels on the new Maruti Suzuki Invicto are also expected to sport a new design as is the rear section of the MPV that will bring it in line with the firm's other premium offerings from Nexa.

Thoughts About The Maruti Suzuki Invicto Bookings Opening

The opening of bookings for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Invicto shows that the firm is going all-in with its efforts to bring its new flagship to the market. We expect the Invicto to be offered in only pure hybrid guise and to be the most expensive car from the Brand to date.
