Maruti Suzuki has hiked the prices of the Ertiga MPV by Rs 6,000 across all variants. The carmaker has not only hiked the price of the popular MPV, but has also made a couple of safety features standard across the range.

After the price hike, the Ertiga now starts at Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The mid-life refresh for the MPV was launched in April with a starting price of Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), however, it remains unclear if the prices for the CNG variants have also been hiked.

Maruti Suzuki has additionally made Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Hill Hold Assist as standard across all variants. Earlier, these safety features were only available with the automatic transmission variants as well as the ZXI+ manual transmission version.

Launched in April, the refreshed Ertiga gets an upgraded 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine with DualJet technology and a mild-hybrid system. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or Maruti Suzuki’s new 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddleshifters.

Cosmetically, the Ertiga got a reworked front grille with an embedded ‘winged’ chrome trim, new dual-tone alloy wheels as well as chrome garnish on the tailgate. Additionally, it also got two new colours – Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown. On the inside, Maruti Suzuki added a Metallic Teak Wooden finish veneer on the dashboard and dual-tone fabric for the seats.

Maruti Suzuki has an order backlog of 3.4 lakh units, and out of these, the Ertiga has a sizable chunk. The CNG version of the MPV has had exceptional demand, with sources stating that it has a waiting period of up to nine months.
