Maruti Suzuki has expanded production capacity at its Manesar plant by one lakh units per annum, taking the total capacity to nine lakh cars.

Maruti Suzuki can now build 23.5 lakh cars in a year
With the new assembly line at Plant A, Maruti Suzuki's overall annual manufacturing capability, including its Gurgaon and Gujarat plants, now stands at 23.5 lakh units. Maruti Suzuki's Manesar facility was inaugurated in February 2007 with Plant A, and Plant B and C were added due to growing demand in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
The Manesar facility has contributed over 9.5 million units to Maruti Suzuki’s cumulative production of 30 million units. The Manesar plant manufactures the Brezza, Ertiga and XL6 utility vehicles as well as the Wagon R, Dzire, S Presso, Ciaz and Celerio passenger cars.
In the first 11 months of FY2024, Maruti Suzuki produced a total of 17,86,813 passenger vehicles, up 3.40 percent YoY (April 2022-February 2023: 17,27,981 units).
In FY2024, which was the best-ever fiscal year for the Indian passenger vehicle industry with total wholesales of around 4.23 million units and 9 percent year-on-year growth, Maruti Suzuki India reported its best-ever fiscal year despatches of 17,59,881 or 1.75 million units, up 10 percent on the 1.60 million units it sold in the domestic market in FY2023.
Upcoming Maruti Suzuki models for India: 2024 and beyond
The brand will introduce the all-new Swift and Dzire this year, and the eVX, its first EV SUV that will be a Creta EV rival, will go on sale next year. Apart from these, an all-new seven-seater SUV based on the Grand Vitara is also in the works for a 2025 launch, and could be called the Maruti Escudo.
