Mahindra Sales Increased By 208 Percent In May 2022: Demand For XUV700 & Thar Skyrockets

Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the most well-known automotive brands in India and has a significant presence in some international markets as well. The automotive manufacturer started off with the manufacturing of utilitarian 4WD vehicles in 1948 and over time has become one of the most technologically-advanced automotive manufacturers to ever come out of India.

The current lineup of Mahindra vehicles are a perfect example of Mahindra's growth. There is the new Mahindra Thar, which is a four-seat 4WD SUV that can tackle any sort of terrain thrown at it, and yet on the inside, it feels comfortable and luxurious. In some states, the Mahindra Thar commands a waiting period of more than three months.

Then comes the XUV700 with its brilliant design, advanced features, and technology. This SUV broke records when it clocked one lakh bookings in under four months. Even today, the XUV700 commands a waiting period of over one and a half years. So, it is obvious that quite a lot of people are waiting for their vehicles.

Apart from this, there's the evergreen Scorpio and Bolero that never seem to die. Even though both products are more than two decades old, demand for these SUVs is never-ending. Little surprise then, that Mahindra has clocked impressive sales numbers in May 2022. Mahindra sold 26,904 passenger vehicles in May 2022.

Mahindra sold a total of 26,632 utility vehicles. In addition to this, Mahindra exported 2,028 vehicles which is an excellent number as well. Mahindra has massively improved in its commercial vehicle sales as well, with 21,149 vehicles sold in May 2022.

Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra's Automotive Division was quoted as saying, "In May, we continued the growth momentum with all our brands performing well including XUV700 and Thar. We are witnessing strong bookings and have a robust pipeline. We announced the launch of Scorpio-N which is generating very high interest levels, and promises to be yet another blockbuster from Mahindra."

These are the sales figures that Mahindra is achieving with two relatively new products and a few older products. However, Mahindra has a slew of new launches coming up in the near future. This includes the much-awaited Scorpio-N and a few electric SUVs as well. With this, we expect Mahindra's sales to skyrocket in the coming months.
