Toyota has confirmed that the Century, their luxury SUV, will debut by the end of 2023. The Toyota Century SUV will be on sale with the Century sedan. This was confirmed during the launch of the new Vellfire MPV.

The Toyota Century sedan has been in the market since 1967 and has mainly been on sale in the Japanese markets, but with the launch of the Century SUV, Toyota is looking to sell it in markets around the world.

The Toyota Century will probably be based on the Grand Highlander SUV's platform, with a similar wheelbase but larger overall dimensions - around 5.2 metres in length and 2 metres in width.

Coming to the engine specs, the Toyota Century will most likely drop the V12 engine that is seen on the sedan and use a more efficient petrol-hybrid version. Also, the car will not be released as an off-roader but as a luxury-focused SUV concentrating on comfort, space, and features, also aiming for it to be a passenger-oriented vehicle. It is likely to feature top-of-the-line fabric and upholstery, a touchscreen digital infotainment system, ambient lighting, and at least level-2 ADAS.

To put things into perspective, the most recent Toyota Century sedan had a 5.0-litre V8 hybrid Engine powering it that could put out 425bhp and 509.7Nm of torque! Not just luxurious, the Century had quite the grunt to it as well!

The Toyota Century SUV, when launched, will be compared to the likes of the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan, but with a much smaller price tag. The Century SUV will most likely be sold as the Japanese Company's flagship model.

Thoughts On the Toyota Century SUV

The Toyota Century SUV is also called the 'Japanese Rolls-Royce Cullinan', and doesn't fall short of it. The Century SUV will feature plush interiors, state-of-the-art features, top-notch technology, utmost comfort, and the best-of-the-best passenger-focused additions, such as ambient lighting, extra space, and collapsible seats for the ones who enjoy being driven around.
