India's First Geared Electric Motorcycle, Matter Aera, Receives 40,000 Bookings - Electric Revolution

Matter has recently made headlines with their latest offering, the Aera electric motorcycle. And within a month, they have received an impressive 40,000 bookings. What sets the Aera apart from other electric motorcycles in India is its unique feature - the country's first-ever geared electric motorcycle.

Customers can secure their Aera electric motorcycle by booking through the manufacturer's official website or popular e-commerce platform, Flipkart. The company has prioritized fulfilling the orders of those who have already pre-booked the Aera.

The electric motorcycle will be available in two variants, namely the 5,000 and 5,000+. Both variants have the same electric motor and battery pack. The motor produces 13bhp of power and can hit 0 to 60km/h in under six seconds.

The electric motorcycle houses a 5kWh battery pack and claims a range of 125km on a single charge. The battery can be charged in 5 hours and under 2 hours with a fast charger. Moreover, Aera is IP67 rated and has liquid cooling.

Both variants come with a 4-speed manual gearbox with four riding modes. The bikes are equipped with dual-channel ABS disc brakes in the front as well as at the rear. The bike has various connectivity features that vary according to the variant.
