Hyundai has released the first teaser for its latest all-electric model from the Ioniq family, the Ioniq 6. Previewed by the Hyundai Prophecy concept, the Ioniq 6 has been called the ‘Electrified Streamliner' by Hyundai with the teaser video revealing little other than the silhouette inspiration for the upcoming model. The ‘Streamliner' tag along with the predominant use of dome-like shapes in various forms in the teaser does hint that the production car will feature a very aerodynamic design when it goes into production.

The Prophecy concept also followed a similar path with a low stance and streamlined design with flowing lines and a coupe-like roof flowing all the way to the tail-laps. Images of heavily camouflaged test mules on international roads have suggested that the basic four-door coupe-like design of the Prophecy concept has been carried forward with the D pillar being steeply raked and flowing almost to the trailing edge of the car. Another noticeable e-GMP trait is the Ioniq 6's long-wheelbase suggesting ample space inside the cabin.

As with its Ioniq siblings, the new 6 will be underpinned by Hyundai's e-GMP platform with the model expected to be offered in single motor two-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. Some reports suggest that the Ioniq 6 could also be a performance derivative from Hyundai N.
