Hyundai Kicks Of The Production Of Its Latest SUV, Exter - First Unit Leaves The Assembly Line

Hyundai recently unveiled its upcoming addition to India's highly competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment with Exter. The highly anticipated model is all set for its official launch in the country on 10th July 2023.

As the launch date approaches, the vehicle's noteworthy features, engine specifications, and anticipated pricing have started to surface on the internet, creating a buzz among enthusiasts and potential buyers. You can book the all-new Exter at Hyundai dealerships for Rs 11,000.

Now, Hyundai has announced that the production of the Exter has begun, and the first unit successfully rolled off the assembly line at their manufacturing plant in Chennai. The Hyundai Exter joins the esteemed lineup of Hyundai SUVs, becoming the eighth model in their SUV fleet.

The upcoming Hyundai Exter will join the ranks of popular SUV models such as Venue, Creta, Alcazar, Kona, Tucson, and Ioniq 5, further expanding Hyundai's presence in the SUV market.

The compact SUV is based on the Grand i10 NIOS platform and will be positioned below the Venue in Hyundai's vehicle lineup. The car will be offered in 10 different colour variants and has both monotone and dual-tone options.

This five-seater will be available in five different variants: EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect, offering customers a range of options to suit their specific needs and preferences. Regarding fuel options, Exeter will have both petrol and CNG variants.

The upcoming Hyundai Exter has an impressive blend of Hyundai's renowned SUV DNA and its global design identity of Sensuous Sportiness. The SUV has a distinctive boxy design featuring split headlamp units, H-pattern LED DRLs, and rectangular projector headlights.

The front is adorned with a sleek blacked-out grille and gets a bold 'EXTER' lettering. The cladded front bumper and a faux silver skid plate add a rugged touch to the SUV's overall appearance.

The car is offered with flared wheel arches with thick cladding, dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, a floating roof effect with a dual-tone paint scheme, and textured C pillars for a better road presence. It will also get a shark fin antenna and a single-pane electric sunroof.

The all-new Hyundai Exter will be powered by a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83bhp and 113.8Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT transmission.

Also, a 1.2 litre Bi-fuel Kappa petrol + CNG powertrain variant of the car will be made available with slightly lower output figures. The engine will be only made available as a 5-speed manual transmission.

Inside, the Exter will be equipped with the latest infotainment system with high-tech features, a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, power windows, etc, among other features.

Regarding safety, the SUV will have six airbags as standard, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking camera and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, and ABS and EBD.

The official pricing of the Exter has yet to be disclosed by Hyundai, and it is anticipated that the Exter will fall within a price that ranges between Rs 6-12 lakh (ex-showroom) approx.
