Ahead of the launch of the Hyundai Exter on July 10, Hyundai Motor India Limited has officially revealed the interior images of the Exter SUV in India. Not surprisingly, the interior turns out to be a replica of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback with a few minor changes.

As mentioned, there are a few changes made to the interior of the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV compared to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback. These changes include a revised colour scheme, a new fully digital instrument cluster, 3-point seat belts for all rear passengers and more.

Looking into the details, the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV gets sporty-looking black colour scheme on the interior, and the part analogue instrument cluster has been replaced by a fully digital instrument cluster from more premium cars such as the Hyundai i20 and Verna.

It is also worth mentioning that the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV sports rear AC vents, which we expect to be a boon during the summer season. Also, the rear passengers get height-adjustable headrests, except for the centre passenger. In fact, the centre passenger does not get a headrest at all.

Speaking about the headrests, the headrests on the front seats are fixed and they do look quite sporty, especially with its dark theme. That being said, Hyundai has cleverly used light-coloured material to line the roof to make the cabin look spacious and airy.

Other details on the interior of the Hyundai Exter SUV include a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with handy physical shortcut buttons, climate control, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, wireless charging pad, and storage bins on all four doors.

In terms of powertrain, the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine that powers other Hyundai models. This engine has been recently updated to comply with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and newer E20 fuel.

This 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine is expected to produce 82bhp and 113.8Nm of torque. Moreover, gearbox options include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Furthermore, Hyundai is also expected to introduce a CNG version to further improve its sales.

Hyundai India has already commenced the bookings for the upcoming Exter SUV at Rs 11,000. Moreover, the model will be positioned below the Hyundai Venue SUV and compete against the likes of Tata Punch, and Citroen C3 in the Indian market.

Thoughts About The Interior Of The Hyundai Exter SUV

Looking at the interior images of the Hyundai Exter SUV, the dashboard and the whole layout is similar to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback. However, Hyundai has made efforts to make the whole package look sporty and upmarket with the above-mentioned changes.
