The internet has been buzzing on the all new Hyundai Exter, since its launch in the Indian market. Hyundai has been stepping up its game lately, and the Exter is no exception. With its boxy design, features, and the competitive pricing, is giving its rivals a hard time.
The micro-SUV is said to be Hyundai's most crucial product launch since the launch of the Creta. With people so eager to get their hands on the car, the waiting period for the EX and EX(O) variants has reached up to 1 year, while for other variants, it's between 5 to 6 months.
Hyundai offers the Exter in seven variants. There is EX, EX(O), S, S(O), SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect. The prices for this micro SUV range from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Exter houses a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns out 81.86bhp of power and 113.8Nm of peak torque. The CNG offering of the car produces a reduced figure of 68bhp and 95.2Nm.
The powertrain is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT whereas the CNG variants get only a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai Exter competes against the likes of Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
Inside, the car is feature packed with amenities like, a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto support, voice-activated commands in multiple languages and OTA updates. Additionally the SUV gets wireless charging, a dash-cam and keyless-entry, among others.
In terms of safety features, the Exter comes with 6 airbags, an Anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, parking sensors, central locking, seat belt reminders, high-speed alert and an emergency stop signal, as standard . On the higher variants, there is Electronic Stability Control, rear parking camera, Vehicle Stability Management and Hill Start Assist as well.
