Japanese two-wheeler giant Honda has revealed the price of the all-new Dio H-Smart on its website while also opening bookings for the scooter. The Honda Dio H-Smart is priced at Rs 77,712 (ex-showroom).

The leaked prices on the Japanese firm's website also revealed that Honda had raised the prices for the base 'Standard' and 'Deluxe' variants of its sporty 110cc scooter offering.

The increase in prices is due to the fact that the updated Honda Dio is compliant with the new OBD-2 emission norms. The new norms came into effect in April.

The new Honda Dio lineup starts at Rs 70,211 for the Standard variant while the Deluxe is priced at Rs 74,212. Prices for both variants have risen by Rs 1,586 (variant prices mentioned are ex-showroom).

The new H-Smart variant of the Dio is expected to follow in the footsteps of the Activa variant with the same H-Smart badging. Like the Activa, the new Dio H-Smart is expected to feature keyless functionality and alloy wheels.

The H-Smart variant of the Dio is expected to sport Honda's array of Smart features including SmartFind which allows you to find your Dio by flashing all four indicators.

Smart Start allows you to start the scooter from a switch while Smart Safe shuts off the keyless functionality of the scooter. Smart Unlock allows owners to unlock the handlebar, fuel filler cap and under seat storage with the key fob.

Other than the expected shift to alloy wheels, the new Dio is expected to remain unchanged mechanically. The 109.51cc, fan-cooled single-cylinder engine will continue to push out 7.65bhp and 9Nm of peak torque which will be sent to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox.

Thoughts About The Honda Dio H-Smart

The Dio H-Smart brings with it quite a few functions that make it an even more appealing offering for those interested in Honda's sporty 110cc offering. Let's just hope it lives up to the hype on the sales charts.
