Honda Dio 125 Teased? Here’s What We Know So Far

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) released a new 13-second teaser video of its upcoming product in India. A closer look at this teaser video reveals that the upcoming product is the Honda Dio scooter with updated graphics.

The new graphics seems to have been designed to attract a younger demographic with its sharp and vibrant colour choices. Furthermore, we expect this model to be launched very soon in the Indian market.

That being said, Honda's current scooter lineup consists of Activa, Activa 125, Dio, Dio Sports, and Grazia 125. A closer look at this lineup reveals that the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer does not have a proper competitor for the likes of sportier 125cc scooters such as TVS Ntorq.

As such, the new teaser could potentially hint at the launch of the 125cc version of the Honda Dio scooter. This makes plenty of sense as the sporty 125cc scooters have plenty of potential in the Indian two-wheeler market.

If true, the upcoming Honda Dio 125 will be powered by the same 125cc powertrain that powers the Honda Activa 125, albeit with slightly different engine tuning to ensure peppier performance. Along with that, the Honda Dio 125 is also likely to come with more features to justify its premium pricing.

Furthermore, we also expect the Honda Dio 125 to come equipped with features such as Bluetooth connectivity tech, which is likely to include features such as call & sms alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, rider telematics and more.

These features will also make the Honda Dio 125 scooter on par with other sporty 125cc scooters such as Suzuki Avenis and TVS Ntorq. On top of that, it will also ensure the interest of the target audience as well.

That being said, the new teaser could also be just a new colour option aimed to attract younger audience. Both ways, HMSI will benefit from the resulting increased footfalls when this new scooter is launched in the country.
