HMIL Releases Detailed Exterior Images Of Hyundai Exter SUV – Many Interesting Design Details Revealed

In a bid to gain the attention of prospective buyers, Hyundai Motor India Limited has released a few exterior images of the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV. These new images reveal various design details about the upcoming Exter SUV.

In terms of design, the Hyundai Exter SUV looks very distinct compared to other Hyundai SUVs such as the Venue and Creta. That being said, the upcoming Exter SUV looks quite attractive and youthful with its large squarish front bumper and split headlamp design.

This square theme is carried forward with the square LED headlamp housing and the LED DRLs that form a unique 'H' pattern. Other design details include faux skid plates, clamshell bonnet, all-around black claddings, roof rails and 'H' shaped LED taillamp graphics.

Earlier, Hyundai also revealed the interior images of the Exter SUV. Unsurprisingly, many interior bits including the dashboard remain almost identical to the one in the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback.

However, Hyundai India has made some changes including the usage sporty-looking black colour scheme, a new fully digital instrument cluster, 3-point seat belts for all rear passengers and a few more.

Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV is powered by the same 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine that powers other Hyundai models. This engine has been recently updated to comply with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and newer E20 fuel.

This 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine is more likely to be tuned to produce around 82bhp and 113.8Nm of torque. Moreover, gearbox options include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Furthermore, Hyundai is also expected to introduce CNG version of the Exter SUV.

That being said, HMIL has already commenced the bookings for the upcoming Exter SUV at Rs 11,000. Moreover, the model will be positioned below the Hyundai Venue SUV and compete against the likes of Tata Punch, and Citroen C3 in the Indian market.
