India's largest motorcycle manufacturer Hero Motocorp has launched the all-new Xtreme 160R 4V in India. Prices for the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V start at Rs 1,27,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is offered in three variant levels - Standard, Connected & Pro. The Standard variant is priced at Rs 1,27,300 while the Connected is priced at Rs 1,32,800. The Hero Xtreme 160 4V Pro is priced at Rs 1,36,500 (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

So what exactly has changed on the all-new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V? Well, the biggest change is revealed in the name of the new naked motorcycle. Hero has fitted made the 163cc engine a 4-valve unit allowing it to draw more air into the combustion chamber.

This change means that the Xtreme 160R 4V's engine produces 16.6bhp and 14.6Nm of peak torque. This is an increase of 1.6bhp and 0.6Nbm of torque over the 2-valve version of the motorcycle. The oil-cooled engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The changes don't stop there for the new Xtreme 160R 4V with the naked 160cc bike also sporting a new suspension setup. The 160R 4V gets an inverted front fork from KYB at the front (painted gold to let the world know) and a rear monoshock from Showa.

Not only does the new inverted front fork draw more eyeballs with its bright gold paint scheme, but it also helps make the Xtreme 160R 4V handle a lot better than before. The mechanical changes have resulted in the bike weighing 145 kilos (5.5 kilos heavier than the 2V) which is still the lightest in the segment.

The design of the Hero Xtreme 160R remains mostly the same though there is some new (and more premium-looking) switchgear along with the option for either a split or single seat. The bike retains the fully LED lighting setup but gains an all-new digital instrument display with 25+ connected features thanks to the new Hero Connect 2.0 setup.

The new suspension bits and split seat are only offered with the Pro variant of the all-new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V. The standard version gets regular forks and the single-seat setup.

Thoughts About The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V

The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V takes the firm's mad 160cc naked motorcycle and dials it up to 11 by giving it more power, new suspension and a display full of tech all of which make it a rather attractive offering in the segment.
