Harley-Davidson X440 Online Bookings Close On August 3 - Deliveries To Begin From October

The Harley-Davidson X440 is Hero MotoCorp's first venture into building a premium motorcycle, showcasing the company's impressive engineering skills. This bike was entirely developed in India by Hero at its Centre for Innovation and Technology, with collaboration and inputs from Harley in Milwaukee.

To be honest, the motorcycle leaves a remarkable first impression, reflecting the successful partnership and the capabilities of Hero MotoCorp. Their aim was to create a capable roadster rather than the usual cruiser style Harley-Davidsons, and this intent is evident in the design language.

Now, Hero MotoCorp has revealed that online bookings for the Harley-Davidson X440 will be ending on August 3. The company has expressed its delight at the tremendous response received for this smallest and most budget-friendly Harley model.

The X440's production is scheduled to begin in September at the 'Garden Factory' located in Neemrana, Rajasthan. The factory is currently increasing its production capacity in response to the high demand it has received for the motorcycle.

Hero has scheduled the customer test rides of the X440 to commence from September 1, and the company plans to start delivering the bikes in October. Although there is no specific date for the next online booking window, Hero has indicated that booking-prices may increase when bookings reopen.

The X440 houses a brand new air and oil-cooled 440cc engine that produces around 27bhp of power and 38Nm of peak torque.Unlike its air-cooled rivals, the Harley comes with a 6-speed gearbox with light slip/assist clutch.

The X440 also comes standard with a 5 year / 70,000 km warranty as standard. At present, the Harley X440 is being offered at introductory prices starting at Rs 2.29 lakh and going up to Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the range-topping 'S' variant.
