Harley-Davidson X440 New Images - See The Made-In-India Roadster In All Its Glory

American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has revealed new images of the upcoming X440 roadster ahead of its launch in India on July 3rd.

The Harley-Davidson X440 will be the first motorcycle produced for India by the Milwaukee firm in partnership with Hero Motocorp, the nation's largest two-wheeler manufacturer.

The new images that were released on Harley-Davidson India's Facebook page reveal what the new X440 will look like out and about on the roads. The images show two X440s and their riders enjoying a run through a mountainous area with one image even showing the new roadster next to some snow.

So just what do we know about the Harley-Davidson X440? Well, the all-new X440 will be made in India by Hero Motocorp and the bike's design does remind you of the XR 1200 Sportster lineup with its more roadster-like looks.

At the front, the X440 sports a round LED headlight with a horizontal DRL running across it along with a flat handlebar, and a wide, flowing fuel tank that flows into the seat of the roadster.

Other features include the chunky exhaust for the single-cylinder engine and the rounded rectangle-shaped LED taillight. The indicators at both ends also appear to be LED units.

Powering the Harley-Davidson X440 is a large single-cylinder engine displacing 440cc. The engine is an oil-cooled unit and is expected to follow the American motorcycle manufacturer's formula for low and mid-range grunt.

Expect this big single-cylinder unit to easily eclipse rivals from Royal Enfield's 350cc lineup of retro cruisers when it comes to output figures. That power and torque are sent to the rear wheel with the help of a chain drive setup.

The Harley-Davidson X440 features a single-downtube tubular frame chassis with upside-down front forks and twin shocks at the rear taking care of the rough stuff. Braking duties are taken care of by Bybre discs that are aided by dual-channel ABS.

The Harley X440 rides on alloy wheels shod with tyres from MRF. The bike features a staggered setup with an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear.
