Force Motors needs no introduction; they've been a prominent company in the Indian automobile market for decades. Force has been making waves with its remarkable range of commercial and adventure-bound off-road vehicles.

The Force Gurkha 3-door went on sale in September 2021, and the rest was history. The brand saw a significant increase in the popularity of the SUV among adventure enthusiasts and off-road enthusiasts alike. The Gurkha was powerful, versatile, and reliable.

Since then, Force Motors has launched the Trax Cruiser MUV and its related variants in India. Recently, it has been revealed that Force Motors is conducting tests on various models of the highly anticipated 5-door Gurkha, along with at least two additional models based on the Gurkha platform.

The models will likely have the same 2.6-litre diesel Mercedes-Benz sourced engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. And, of course, there might be variations in power, torque, and engine tuning across different models.

Force Gurkha 5-Door

The Gurkha 5-door has been seen testing many times, and recently, a slightly different-looking version of the SUV was caught testing. This particular variant had a modified front-end design, resembling the appearance of the Force Trax Cruiser MUV rather than the typical round headlight setup of the Gurkha 3-door model.

Also, A new shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob was seen in the latest testing mule instead of the lever-operated system found in the Gurkha 3-door and the previously spotted 5-door versions. It is also reported that the company is testing two different 4WD setups for the SUV.

Force Motors is also testing multiple seating options on the Gurkha 5-door; various test mules were seen with seating for up to five, six, and even seven passengers. The Gurkha 5-door will compete against the likes of the upcoming Thar 5-door.

Force Gurkha 5-Door Pickup

Force Motors has been testing a pickup iteration of the Gurkha on Indian roads as well. This pickup is built on the extended chassis of the Force Trax Cruiser but has a body design that resembles the Gurkha 5-door.

The pickup truck has a dual cab design and features a split window at the rear for accessing the truck bed. However, the truck's tailgate opens sideways instead of folding down, as conventional pickup trucks do.

Upon its introduction in the Indian market, this pickup could be a cost-effective option for those seeking a lifestyle pickup. This pickup will compete against popular cars like the Isuzu V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux.

Force Gurkha 3-Door 6-Seater

In addition to the Gurkha 5-door and pickup versions, Force Motors is also testing a distinct 3-door variant of the Gurkha. Two significant alterations have been observed in the Gurkha 3-door test mule.

Firstly, the rear glasshouse, which is currently non-operational, has been transformed into a conventional sliding window setup-secondly, side-facing bench seats, which will increase the seating capacity from four to six.

Thoughts On The Upcoming Force Gurkha SUVs

The upcoming SUVs based on the Gurkha platform from Force Motors hold immense promise for off-road enthusiasts and those seeking versatile and reliable vehicles. We expect these models will hit the market soon, offering a range of options to cater to different customer needs and preferences.
