Getting to the top is one thing but maintaining the top position is always a fight. Time has proven that all it takes for a top selling car to fall is often a mere change in trend. This is why auto manufacturers keep innovating and introducing more models with improved functionality and modified design. Maruti Gypsy

The 34-year long run of the Maruti Gypsy ended in 2019. It was a popular army and police vehicle and was also loved by civilian drivers who craved a sense of adventure. Although the Maruti Gypsy offered only basic features and did not have airbags even in the second generation of the vehicle, it was a sturdy vehicle and functional for the forces. It could be modified, upgraded and was good for off-roading. The last recorded sale price of this Gypsy was 6.4 lakhs (INR).

Maruti Suzuki Omni

You can either relate to this van as the vehicle that used to carry you or your children to school. This vehicle was mostly used for commercial purposes and at times as public transport as it was spacious enough to accommodate around 10 people. Maruti witnessed huge success with the Omni, and even today many such vans can be seen on the roads. Even if the van is not being produced anymore, it is easily recognisable and will always be a part of our memories.

Honda Civic

A luxury car loved by many, the Honda Civic hit the market at a decent price range of approximately 17 lakhs. This sedan gained popularity eventually but it wasn't enough to sustain its production. After facing financial instabilities, Honda had to make tough decisions on continuing car models that weren't getting the desired response. The Honda Civic was one such model. However, it was a shock to both customers and the industry as the car was one of the best-in class models, with superb features.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

The news of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 being discontinued was a heartbreaker for many Indian homes.  As we know, Maruti Suzuki is a household name in India due to cars like the Maruti 800 and Alto. The Alto got a new definition of class and good features in this new version. It was an easy to maintain, cost effective car, but had to be discontinued to make way for the new Maruti S-Presso. These classic Maruti cars can still be spotted on Indian roads, even though they have been discontinued.
