2 years ago 82

BMW has launched a new trim on the X5 xDrive 30d – the M Sport – that replaces the xLine. This trim, as per our dealer sources, just adds a few cosmetic upgrades to the luxury SUV, while the variant continues to be powered by the same 3.0-litre diesel engine.

  • BMW X5 xDrive 30d M Sport is now the top-spec variant
  • It gets M Sport body kit and alloy wheels

The BMW X5 xDrive 30d M Sport retails for Rs 97.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), and becomes the top-spec variant in the SUV’s line-up. Prior to this, the top spec X5 was the xLine, which retailed for Rs 94.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Cosmetically, the M Sport design package gets a new front bumper, rear diffuser, tailpipes, M Sport brake calipers, M-specific car key and M Sport logos on the sides.

The engine – a 265hp, 620Nm, 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged diesel – remains unchanged in this trim, and comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via the xDrive system.

When compared to the SportX Plus trim that it slots above, the M Sport gets steering mounted paddle shifters, launch control, adaptive air suspension, electric tailgate, adaptive LED headlamps, a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, head-up display, a 360-degree camera and 20-inch M Sport alloy wheels.

The BMW X5 rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90 in India.
