Bengaluru-Based Oben Delivers First Batch of Rorr Electric Motorcycles - Details Inside

As we're aware, India is on its way to becoming an EV-global-hub and has introduced several programs that enable both the manufacturer and customer to avail many benefits. As a result, we can see a boom in the EV-industry of the country, with many indigenous companies becoming the key players.

Oben Electric, an EV startup based in Bengaluru, has started the delivery of its high-performance electric motorcycle, the Oben Rorr. The company recently organized an event at its plant in Jigani, Bengaluru, where it delivered 25 units of the EV to its proud owners.

Being the owners of the first batch, they were also offered exclusive merchandise and additional offers at the 'First to Rorr' (F2R) event. Priced around Rs1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the performance electric motorcycle can go 0-40km/h in just three seconds.

The Rorr houses a 4.4kWh battery pack that powers an 8kW IPMSM motor. It takes about two hours to get charged up and gets a top speed of 100km/h, and Oben claims a range of 187km on a single charge.

The motorcycle is said to be the safest electric two-wheeler in India as it uses a Lithium Ferrous Phosphorus technology in the cell. They've also designed the battery in such a way that it will last double-the-duration and resist heat up to 50 per cent higher than other batteries.

As part of its customer-centric approach, the company also provides three first-in-segment free services within the first year of owning the bike. Additionally, they offer a warranty of 50,000km or three years, which can be extended to five years or 75,000 km.

Furthermore, a three-year warranty specifically for the motor is also included with the bike. They will also have the advantage of free Roadside Assistance (RSA) and nationwide access to over 12,000 charging stations through the company's charging partners.

Oben began the sales of the Rorr in May this year, from their first-experience-centre located at HSR Layout, Banglore. The company says the bike stands out with its performance, surpassing that of a 150cc motorcycle. Its modern design and intelligent features make it a compelling choice for customers.

The minimal operational cost also adds to the ownership experience for customers. As per the bike maker's claim, Oben amazed 21,000 pre-orders for the electric motorcycle. The company plans to expand its manufacturing capacity and open showrooms in every city and state.
