2023 Toyota Vellfire MPV Revealed - Even More Luxurious

Japanese carmaker Toyota has unveiled the all-new 2023 Vellfire luxury MPV. The 2023 Toyota Vellfire is based on the TNGA-K modular platform that also underpins the all-new Lexus LM MPV.

The all-new Toyota Vellfire retains its predecessor's boxy design and is slightly larger than the MPV it replaces. The all-new Toyota Vellfire however looks a lot more sportier thanks to a few design changes, some that you have to look more closely for and some that are in your face.

The biggest in-your-face design change comes in the form of the massive six-slat grille that sports the Toyota badge. The headlights are now a split setup with the upper section housing the main projector lamps.

The other big change at the front comes in the form of the new chrome highlights that start slightly underneath the headlamps and run across the chin of the front bumper.

The sides of the new Vellfire feature chrome highlights that run across the windows and to the roof-mounted spoiler. The pillars of the all-new luxury MPV are blacked out.

At the rear, the spoiler plays host to the third brake light. The angular taillights are connected to the Toyota badge in the centre of the tailgate. Underneath the Toyota badge is the Vellfire badging. Like the front, a U-shaped chrome strip runs across the rear bumper.

The new Vellfire's interiors have also changed and this can be seen with the brand-new infotainment display in the cabin which sees the loss of quite a few of the buttons on the previous version of the MPV. Also seen is a brand-new display for the instrumentation.

The passenger section too features quite a few updates including the Super-Long Overhead Console which hosts the ambient lighting elements switches and AC vents. The new Vellfire's sunroof features separate left and right shades that can be opened independently of each other.

The new Vellfire is offered with two powertrain options with the luxury MPV dropping its V6 for a turbo inline-4 while retaining its hybrid setup. The inline turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that pushes out 275bhp and 430Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a CVT gearbox.

The full-hybrid setup consists of a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine and an electric motor that is limited to a maximum of 247bhp. The hybrid system is paired with an e-CVT gearbox.
