2023 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Sigma Variant Updated – Comes With More Safety Features

Now, Maruti Suzuki has updated the base 'Sigma' variant of the Baleno hatchback in India. This update focuses on improving the safety of the model and includes more than a few upgrades.

To understand these upgrades better, a video of the updated base 'Sigma' variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback has been shared by AWD on their YouTube channel. However, it is worth mentioning that the Maruti Suzuki Baleno 'Sigma' variant featured in the video comes with a few additional accessories.

For starters, the updated base 'Sigma' variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback now features a headrest for the middle passenger and also comes equipped with three-point seatbelts for all passengers. These two features alone are expected to significantly improve the overall safety quotient of the hatchback.

Speaking about the additional accessories, the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno 'Sigma' variant featured in the video comes with extras such as silver wheel covers, chrome door handles, window visors, lower boot chrome garnish, and mirror caps.

As mentioned earlier, all of these additional accessories are not part of the standard fitment, and they do cost extra. However, looking at the video, these additional accessories do help the Baleno hatchback look a bit more premium and sophisticated.

In terms of powertrain, the base 'Sigma' variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback comes powered by the same 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, petrol engine. This engine in the Baleno hatchback produces 89bhp and 113Nm of peak torque.

However, unlike the higher-spec variants, the 'Sigma' variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback comes exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Moreover, the base 'Sigma' variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback is priced at Rs 6.61 lakh (ex-showroom).
