Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has launched the Z900RS neo-retro motorcycle in India. The 2023 Kawasaki Z900RS is priced at Rs 16.47 Lakh, ex-showroom, India.

Kawasaki stopped selling the Z900RS in India following the implementation of BS6 norms. However, the retro-designed motorcycle has returned to India with its four-cylinder engine tuned to meet the strict new emission norms that come into effect next month.

Speaking of the engine, the liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder powerplant continues to displace 948cc. The 4-cylinder engine on the Z900RS produces 110bhp (82kW) at 8,500rpm and 98.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.

The Z900RS sports a trellis frame made from high-tensile steel. The retro bike sports inverted front forks with 120mm of wheel travel while at the rear the 2023 Z900RS features a monoshock.

The new 2023 Kawasaki Z900RS rides on spoked 17-inch wheels shod with 120/70 ZR17 (front) and 180/55 ZR17 (rear) tyres. The Z900RS' braking duties are taken care of by dual 300mm discs at the front each sporting four-piston callipers while the rear end gets a 250mm disc with a single-piston calliper.

The 2023 Kawasaki Z900RS is 2,100mm long, 865mm wide, and 1,150mm tall. The wheelbase of the Z900RS is 1,470mm long and the bike offers 130mm of ground clearance. The seat height of the Z900RS is 835mm and the bike sports a 17-litre fuel tank and weighs 215kg.

The Z900Rs retains the retro design that has been its calling card ever since it arrived in the country. At the front, the bike sports a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a comfortable seat with a ribbed pattern that sits atop a slim tail section.

The Z900RS sports an all-LED lighting setup while the instrumentation is a mix of digital and analogue. A negative LCD display sits between the speedometer and the rev counter pods. Other features on the bike include Kawasaki Traction Control, spoked wheels and a chunky exhaust.

The new 2023 Z900RS is offered up in two colour options - Candy Tone Blue and Metallic Diablo Black.

Thoughts About The 2023 Kawasaki Z900RS

The Kawasaki Z900RS is the flagship neo-retro model from the Japanese marque and goes up against Triumph's Bonneville T100 and Speed Twin models. Hopefully, with the engine updated for the new norms, the Z900RS is here to stay for good.
