American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has revealed all the details about the all-new 2023 CVO Road Glide & Street Glide factory custom baggers. The American marque had given us a sneak peek at the bike in April.

Along with all the details that fans were salivating over, Harley-Davidson has also released new images of the premium baggers from its in-house customization team - Custom Vehicles Operations (CVO).

And the details that have emerged from Milwaukee confirm what was being rumoured for a while about the brand new 121ci (1,977cc) engine that is fitted to the CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide for 2023.

The new V-twin dubbed the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 has variable valve timing (VVT) as suggested in its name. This Harley claims broadens the overall powerband, improves torque management and enhances efficiency to increase range from each tank of fuel when compared to the same engine with fixed valve timing.

So what exactly does this beastly new V-Twin that cares for the green produce? Well, Harley claims that the engine produces 115.3bhp at 4,500rpm and 189Nm of peak torque at just 3,000rpm.

Compared to the Milwaukee-Eight 117, the new VVT 121 engine also gets an improved cooling system, which improves thermal comfort for riders. Also present are new cylinder heads, a high-performance crankshaft with higher lift and longer duration, a new airbox and intake tract, an improved shift drum for the 6-speed transmission and a high-performance exhaust system.

Other improvements come in the form of the 47mm inverted front forks from Showa which offer 117mm of travel and the dual rear shocks (again Showa) which offer remote preload adjustment on the left shock, and threaded preload on the right shock. The rear shocks offer 76mm of travel.

The 2023 Harley Davidson CVO models use large Brembo brakes to help get them to stop in time. Both bikes sport 320mm dual floating discs at the front clamped down by 4-piston callipers while the rear end makes do with a 300mm disc with a single-piston calliper.

The 2023 CVO Road Glide & CVO Street Glide feature a staggered setup for the wheels with a 19-inch front and an 18-inch rear. The wheels are shod with Dunlop Harley-Davidson Series bias blackwall tyres that measure 130/60 at the front and 180/55 at the rear.

Both bikes get a 12.3-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment display that can be operated even when the rider is wearing gloves. The display connects to Wi-Fi, has a voice recognition system, navigation, and Bluetooth and is paired with a Rockford Fosgate Stage II audio system with a 4-channel, 500-watt RMS amplifier.

Both bikes are also packed with electronic aids including Cornering Electronically Linked Brakes (C-ELB), Cornering-Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) and Cornering-Traction Control System (C-TCS). Other safety aids include Cornering Drag Torque Slip Control (C-DTSC), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring system (TPMS).

The Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide for 2023 are offered in two colour options - Standard Dark Platinum with Bright Smoked Satin pinstriping and Whiskey Neat/Raven Metallic two-tone with both versions getting colour-matched inner fairings.

Thoughts About The 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide & CVO Street Glide

The 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide & CVO Street Glide are the American firm's 120th Anniversary present to itself and its fans. Both bikes are massive cruisers that we're not sure will come to India but if they do, will surely attract attention wherever they go.
