The Lamborghini Huracan made its official debut back in 2014 and replaced the Lamborghini Gallardo as the company's entry-level, mid-engined supercar. Now, Lamborghini India has announced that it had delivered the 150th unit of the Lamborghini Huracan supercar in the country.

Reflecting on the success of the model, Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India, said "The delivery of the 150th Huracán in India is a testament to its appeal to customers in the super sports car segment who are looking for an emotionally charging experience of a race car's powerful technology in everyday driving on the roads."

Speaking about the Lamborghini Huracan, the supercar is one of the most successful models for the Italian marque. Furthermore, the model stands out from its main competitors from Ferrari and McLaren due to its naturally-aspirated powertrain (A rare sight nowadays).

Speaking about the powertrain, the Lamborghini Huracan uses a 5.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, V10 engine with 602bhp and 560Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, this engine comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and most of the variants of the supercar send power to all four wheels.

Coming to the variants, Lamborghini has produced quite a few variants on the Huracan supercar. In fact, Lamborgini even launched a rear-wheel-drive version called the Huracan LP 580-2 in 2016. This rear-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracan was available in both coupe and convertible body styles.

Though the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 had a slightly detuned engine with 572bhp and 540Nm of torque, many motoring journalists praised the car's handling capabilities. The next year, Lamborghini launched the Huracan LP 640-4 Performante, which is a track-focussed version of the model.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante came with an uprated engine with 631bhp and 600Nm of torque. Though the numbers may not excite much, the car came with active aerodynamics, which the Lamborghini christened ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva).

In 2019, Lamborghini launched the facelifted version of the Huracan called the 'Huracan Evo'. This model used the same engine as the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and the supercar could hit 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

After this, Lamborghini went on to make other variants such as LP 640-4 Evo Spyder, LP 610-2 Evo, LP 610-2 Evo Spyder, LP 640-2 STO, LP 640-2 Technica, and LP 610-4 Sterrato. Out of these models, the Lamborghini Huracan LP 640-2 STO is another track-focussed model from the automaker.

Thoughts About The Lamborghini Huracan

In the age of turbocharging, the Lamborghini Huracan supercar stands out with its naturally-aspirated V10 engine. With ever-tightening emission regulations, such supercars will be soon confined to history books and we should celebrate the existence of such magnificent machines whenever we can to cherish the memories later.
